Artist Detailed Info: Pr0teus

Fernando Arquines, aka pr0teus, began playing tenor saxophone in the 6th grade, quickly becoming adept at translating thought into sound. Throughout junior-high and high school, he earned many improvisation awards at regional jazz festivals. He first became acquainted with "techno/electronica" in 1997, and was quickly inspired to create some music of his own.

After high school, with nothing but a computer, he began writing music with "tracker programs" -- first Octamed on the Amiga 2000; then Impulse Tracker on a 486 PC. In the summer of 1998, he first heard psytrance, and became hooked. He joined Innerverse/Ultrabeat, an elite group of psychedelic trance "trackers" from all over the world, and made several online releases.

In late 2003, his first official single was released by Elektrik Orgazm Records on the compilation, "10 Year Grok." In 2005 he released another track with Sundance Records on the compilation, "Vibraspirit 11."

He took a break from producing tracks for the last couple years to concentrate on work and family, but is currently back in the studio working on new material for 2009/2010.
