Formed in 1995 by Norbert Bieber and Jürgen Kotzian as an informal outfit fusing rock elements with even then primitive electronics and electroacoustic experimentations, ZAUS quickly turned into a recording and performance collective with ever-changing contributors. While Kotzian quit musical activities after the recording of the first album in 1998, Bieber has continued production work under the synonym ZAUS until now.
