Mennad, whose real name is Mohamed Ould Slimane, was born on November 11, 1954 in Kabylie. He studied law at the Faculty of Algiers. He also studied music at the conservatory of Algiers. In France, he studied Berber at INALCO where he earned a degree in Berber language and civilization.

A singer and a composer, he is a privileged witness of the wave that has traveled the 70s and 80s and in which he participated with another great Berber singer, Idir. [read more...]
