Wei- Chi is the brainchild of Raoul Walton, a multi- instrumentalist that lives in Munich, Germany. He is most known for his studio and live work as a Bassist in diverse bands in Europe. Raoul came to Germany through the late Conny Plank, a German producer (Kraftwerk, Ultravox,)who engaged him to record with Gabi Delgado, and later the Rap group Whoudini, where he played Bass,Guitar and sang background vocals.
Raoul got involved in electronic music in the late 80´s and produced cover versions of diverse dance music of the time which led to a collaboration with Andi Thoma and Dodo Nikishi from Mouse on Mars. The resulting projects were 5 A.M. and Loophole, which were released on Amber Records(Polydor).After the breakup of Loophole,Raoul worked with Fauna Flash, a Munich Based Drum and Bass Group, and the Rainer Trüby trio, where he played Bass and periodically keyboards.Raoul recorded his fist single for Compost , which was called "Heaven" after Rainer Trüby Heard one of his previous recordings ,and passed the Record on to Giles Peterson, who featured the song "Don´t Know" on his worldwide radio show.In 2003 Raoul released the CD "One I, Two Eyes" on Compost, collaborating with Ben Mono, Fauna Flash, Beanfield, Osunlade, and Moonstar. The Album features the vocals of Merit Ostermann.
