Detailierte Künstler Informationen: The Solid Doctor

"The Solid Doctor", ist ein Projekt des
"Fila Brazilia" Mitglieds Steve Cobby aus Kingston upon Hull in Großbritannien.
Schon als Jugendlicher wurde er musikalisch von Künstlern, wie David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd und Led Zeppelin stark beeinflusst.
Anfang der 80er Jahre hörte er gerne die Musik von Comsat Angels, New Order oder Fad Gadget - Magazine.
1984/85 entdeckte er Reggae, Hip-Hop und House für sich.
Zu Black Music bekam er in seiner Heimatstadt nur sehr wenig Zugang.
Erst als er seinen Freund Porky, aus den Midlands, mit etwa 20 Jahren kennen lernte, eröffnete ihm dessen Musiksammlung eine vollkommen andere Welt der musikalischen Unterhaltung.Mit ihm zusammen begann Steve lokal in Welly in Hull als DJ zu arbeiten.
So entwickelt er seine musikalische Tätigkeit weg vom Mainstream und lies sich von Artists, wie Bill Nelson, Phillip Glass bis hin zu Cabaret Voltaire und Studio One inspirieren.
Nun began auch die musikalische Presse sich für ihn zu interessieren:
"The phrase "Hull's finest" hasn't conventionally inspired the most fevered enthusiasm in folk but uttered in relation to Pork Recordings it should, if there's any justice left in the world, ignite fanatical rioting and : topple governments around the globe. Let's flaunt convention also by avoiding the normally irrepressible Pork review gags about curly tails, bringing home the bacon and : rooting out musical truffles from the sonic undergrowth and get on with the business of Steve Cobby's major contribution to downtempo funk in this country and leftfield dance music in general.
