Purpose Effect (short: PFX ) is a 4-piece band from Berlin, Germany, which is incorporating progressive metal, drum&bass and pop/r&b influences into a unique, dense sound. Played by highly skilled musician, backed by a powerful contemporary production. Ready to plug-in and play live anywhere, anytime.

Purpose Effect was founded in the spring of 2007 by producer/vocalist Ole "Scabar" Kupfer, multi-instrumentalist/producer Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger and drummer Björn Schellinger.
After two years of rehearsing and songwriting PFX their debut 4-song EP as a trio, augmented by session bass-players Guido Nerger and Jacob Schmidt. In the summer of 2009 Peter Geltat joined the line-up as second guitar player.
The band is now looking for a professional booking-agency, management and/or label. A full-length album has been scheduled for 2011.
