For the last couple of years NUN has been successfully creating a modern type of pop strongly inspired by the latest trends E L E C T R O. The band consists of Magda Kaspryszyn (vocals, compositions) and Olaf Karbowiak (production, compositions). The duo made their debut on a compilation released by BMG Poland in 2002, at the same time two of their songs - „ Stop ! ” and „ I Don’t Know How ” appeared on the soundtrack of a SF movie called „Arche The Pure Evil”. One year later, in 2003, Magda contributed vocally on the second album of one of the best Polish producers, Anrdrzej Smolik, called „Smolik2” In the years 2004-2007 NUN played a series of gigs and DJ sets around Poland as well as abroad and presented themselves at many major electronic music festivals such as Arvika Festival in Sweden, Calyx Festival in Berlin or Free Form in Warsaw. At the same time the duo also supported many stars of electronic music such as Ladytron, The Knife, Camouflage, Psyche or Client. In June 2005 the band together with a Swedish label Substream have released their debut album called “Sunlight”. In Poland the album appeared thanks to EMI Poland and reached a considerable success on the alternative scene. At this time NUN tracks and remixes appeared on many compilation around the world and the singles „Hope” and „Stop” reached the top places on electronic music charts. ( i.e. No 1 in Russia and No 3 in Germany ). The band also got a lot of enthusiastic reviews of their debut album in the world and national musical press ( such as: Future Music, Zero Magazine, Metica, Side Line….) In July 2007 a compilation ”Elektropop.pl” was released by Sp. Rec. This compilation presented the most meaningful achievements of Polish electro scene and it was fully compiled by NUN. The compilation included not only the band’s songs but also their remixes for the most influential Polish artists of this genre. At the moment the band is working on their second album, which climate will revolve rather around club music. The result of this work are such songs as “Nemo” or “Better Dream” which were created in cooperation with a famous German producer Thomas Gold, who has already worked as a producer/remixer with such stars as Roger Sanchez, Stonebridge or Just Jack. The track “Nemo” has already gained a lot of appreciation by the international electro scene being a part of a very popular German compilation „Electrpop vol.1” next to the most intriguing European and American new electronic era acts. The band has been also cooperating with the raising star of Italian electro/house scene – Stefano Lanfranchi and the unquestionable guru of all electro-clubbers Jorge Jaramillo( Who Da Funk), whose enormous hit „Shiny Disco Balls” has already become the classic of the genre and set the trends which have been determining direction for club music until the present moment.
