history

At the beginning of 2001 Gruba forms itself out of the two former "Schweisser" musicians Miene Gruber (guit,Voc) and Gerald "Greulix" Schrank as well as Ben Essen ex- "Freaky Fuckin Weirdoz"

They produce their own demo CD in April 2001 somewhere between the Munich Tollwood and the Kaunertal Longboard World Championship they build up a faithful fan club aging from 5 to 95.Their songs travel as far as Chile, Australia or Lower Bavaria and after heaps of positive feedback, the guys/ they decide to hit the studio.

In order to imagine what kind of music this resulted in, you have to start thinking in new categories. Imagine Madonna, The Police, Cyndi Lauper and The Clash sitting together over a sportscigarette and a cup of tea, playing a round of Shithead.
The realization of Miene Gruber’s acoustic songs has nothing to do with the music these three formerly played.
