Detailierte Künstler Informationen: Eudaimony

Eudaimony wurden im Juli 2007 gegründet. Die Urheber der Band sind der ehemalige Dark Fortress-Sänger Matthias Jell (Gesang) und Marcus E. Norman (Gitarre), der unter anderem bei Naglfar, Bewitched, Havayoth und Ancient Wisdom aktiv ist. Vervollständigt wird das Line-Up durch Jörg Heemann (Secrets of the Moon, Black Crucifixion) am Schlagzeug und Peter Honsalek (Nachtreich) an der Bratsche.

Die Band distanziert sich bewusst vom Black Metal, da sie laut eigener Aussage "weder lyrisch noch musikalisch in diesem Genre anzusiedeln sind". Auf ihrem am 29. November 2013 über Cold Dimensions erschienenen Debüt-Album "Futile" wird doomiger Dark Metal geboten. Dabei wird in erster Linie Wert auf Feeling und Atmosphäre gelegt, anstatt auf komplexe Songstrukturen.

Um "Futile" mit anderen Bands in etwa zu vergleichen, könnte man die Frühwerke von Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Shining und Empyrium nennen.

Eudaimony is basically a side-project, that was formed in 2007 by former Dark Fortress-vocalist Matthias Jell and Marcus E. Norman (Naglfar, Bewitched, Ancient Wisdom, Throne of Ahaz, Havayoth) on guitars. Short time later Jörg Heemann (Secrets of the Moon) on drums and Peter Honsalek (Nachtreich) on viola completed the line-up.

The idea behind Eudaimony was from beginning on to create something different compared to the main bands of the involved members. Furthermore to create negative, pessimistic and desolate music. Eudaimony never wanted to be seen in the black metal-genre. If it's necessary to classify their style one could describe it as doomy and disharmonic dark metal.

This can be heard on Eudaimony's debut album "Futile", that was released on November 29th 2013 via German label Cold Dimensions (Lunar Aurora, ColdWorld, e.g.)
