Death Rays is the shared project of Alexander Hawthorne and Simon Wild. Having both grown up in Bury St Edmunds but having never met, the pair were introduced while shooting a film made by Alexander's brother. Discovering their shared love of Joe Meek recordings, Spacemen 3 and Suicide, they began writing and recording in London together in late 2013.

Death Rays combine a rhythm section made up of analog synthesiser and drum machine with a towering wall-of-sound guitars to create songs which combine claustrophobic, psychedelic noise with a sensibility for infectious pop.
