For some time in the 90s, DEAR WOLF have been a well-known part oft the German alternative music scene. With their fifth studio album "The Falldownstandup" once more they present their impressive musical skills. A voice with a creepy Glenn Danzig vibe, accompanied by a heavy bass guitar, euphoric choruses, plain melancholy and a few surprising elements - already the first time you listen to this record, you will be enchanted by these catchy tunes. DEAR WOLF are compareable to bands like PLEASURE FOREVER and MADRUGADA, if you wish to pigeonhole them. But, after all, DEAR WOLF have been inspired by such a wide range of artists that they pretty much developed their own style over the years. Rather than only writing "simple" songs, DEAR WOLF are storystellers like JOHNNY CASH, JOE STRUMMER and NICK CAVE, their songs haunt you, they catch you, they won't let you escape. For example, "Sister Ray" impresses with a bombastic chorus and a combination of traditional Alternative elements and modern fragments you might as well hear from IGNITE. It is almost impossible to peg their music as a certain style, but whatever wish to call it, people with a distinct passion for music will love this record.
