Zoo Box is a Norwegian rock band described amongst other genres as alternative rock, art rock, beatnik pop, avant garde and post-grunge. Their debut LP 'The Rat Inside
(which title which is inspired by William S. Burroughs' -' The Cat Inside') was released internationally on June 3. 2018 it has currently sold 1098 song purchases on iTunes and got a 4/5 star review on Apple Music, and in a Natt & Dag album review calling on the radio station Radio klem FM to play it. Klem FM did and the band was joined by backing vocals. and base Ed Leksnes.
The Rat Inside was succeeded by a next to instrumental new
5-track EP called "Snake Oil Shake" released on July 7. 2018. It consists of guitar pieces and organ harmonies from different outtakes from the main record.
‘Catfishinging’ from 2019 was a folk experiment “in terror” cited by the band to release a bunch of songs that didn’t fit into ‘The Rat Inside’ or the 2021 follow up record “Clam” which is all but focused on telling the story of a displaced “Young Beach Man” and his story through the modern day rock environment in opposition to the corporate takeover of rock and roll. “Clam” became the band’s most favorited album on Apple Music within 4 days after its March ‘21 release.
The current line up for the band is:
Isar Gallab
Dam il-Moon
River Zeal
Ed Leksnes
(with contributions and collaborations with Crispy Carrot)
