1. Zig Zag is a legendary Latvian alternative rock/post-punk band that has been active since 1985. They are considered one of the pioneers and keystones of the Latvian alternative music scene, known for their rebellious sound and popular songs that found an audience among the youth.

Originally formed in Rīga, Latvia in 1985 under the name Ārprāc, the band quickly became known as Zig Zag and was instrumental in bringing guitar-based post-punk tendencies to Latvia. Their music blended alternative rock with punk influences, and some of their tracks became hits that are still well-known today, such as Man ir silts, Vāvere Eva, and Signe melo. The band has performed internationally and participated in various festivals over the decades.
