Burning brightly and always likely to implode, weeder's mission was always going to be brightening a dull day with some fast, heady, intense, powerpop, Jesus rock. Founding member and frontman Ed Green formed Weeder after the demise of his first band Ape. Tim Rose (Yellow Ribbon, Paul Oakley) was recruited as a powerful and skillful drummer. Richard Miles became the band's bass player and Steve-o Paisley added his guitar skills. Robin Greene joined later as a second guitarist. Weeder were influenced heavily by west country band Reef. Ed & Steve shared the songwriting duties and penned most of the tracks at Ed's parent's gaff. In Hiding was an acoustic track produced and recorded by Adam Jarvis (Ertia, Seeker) at Beechwood studios. This mellow track shows a more vulnerable side to Weeder. Tim took on djembe duites for the track and the song is driven gently by Steve's acoustic and the producer's piano loop. Becky Green joins Weeder for BVs at the end of the track. Steve was well known for his hobbit-look but this has since faded into geography teacher style. Tim Rose is still waiting to unleash his drumming skills with a new band and Goldie (Miles) is married living in Brighton... Robin, Steve-o and Ed all currently reside in Bath and Ed still knows the lyrics to some of the songs. All songs featured on are written by Green/Paisley. Music by Green/Paisley. Enjoy Weeder and share them with your friends.
