Artist Detailed Info: Viya

Viya is a Turkish folk-fusion band, formed in İstanbul TR in 2008, consisting of Barış Demirel on Bass Guitar, Melodica, Trumpet, Vocals, Özgür Çakır on Guitars and Effects, Zeynep Türkmen on Violin, Aydın Türkoğlu on Drums and Bass Guitar, and Ege Türkmenler on Drums.

Viya means "Body surfing" in the "Laz" language, and as they improvise, they ride the waves of creation and inspiration on their bodies.

Viya published debut EP "Huzur İsyanda" on December 2010. The debut concert of the EP took place at Peyote on 25th December 2010.

Viya is a member of Oppa Tzupa Zound Zystem (OpzZz!).
