Artist Detailed Info: Violent Kink

Violent Kink is a Brazilian band officially formed on August 18, 2022, created by Gabriela Nascimento (Hope). The project initially began on paper, when Hope started developing the group’s visual and sonic identity — choosing the band’s official colors, sketching the first version of the logo (later redesigned by her friend Dora), and composing three songs that would define the band’s atmosphere.

During the first year, Hope also selected covers for early rehearsals and began the process of recruiting members. The lineup went through several changes before solidifying with Hope (vocals and guitar), Igor Trajano (guitar), André Oliveira (bass), and Davi José (drums) — the formation that would mark the band’s first live show.

Their live debut took place on September 2, 2023, at the punk festival Distúrbio Contra o Ódio, where the group presented its first original compositions. On July 13, 2024, the band welcomed a new member, Gustavo Otton, who took over on guitar while Hope shifted her focus to vocals, songwriting, and art direction. His arrival marked a new phase for Violent Kink, featuring more theatrical performances, guitar battles, costume changes, and individual solos by each member, along with the use of colored flashlights and other visual elements that enriched the live experience.

On August 23, 2025, the group released its first EP, Máquina de Guerra, available on all digital platforms. The work features three demo tracks and presents a narrative concept created by Hope, told through character letters published alongside the songs on Spotify. The cover art and the background animations displayed on the platform were also designed by her, reinforcing the band’s independent and cohesive visual identity.

Violent Kink has performed at several notable venues within the Brazilian alternative scene, including Jai Club, Cafundó, and Veganasso, among others, and also offers official merchandise through its online channels.
