Ultra Violent

Ultra-Violent were formed in January '82, in Hebden Bridge just outside Halifax, releasing one single for Riot City records 'Crime for Revenge'. Ultra Violent were Guitarist Andrew 'Grif' Griffiths, vocalist Adrian 'Adie' Bailey, bassist Simon Duffy (Duf) and his brother Jared Duffy (Jaz) the drummer. The first Ultra Violent demo was a very basic affair recorded in Halifax during April '82.

It failed to generate any interest from labels. However the band played many shows around West Yorkshire that summer and developed into a frighteningly powerful and focused act. This impressive evolution was showcased to perfection with the storming recording Ultra Violent made at Rochdale's Cargo Studios during November 1982.
Four songs were commited to tape: (Amazingly Jazz was only just 14 years old at the time)

Crime For Revenge
Where Angels Dare Not Tread
Dead Generation
Sign Of The Times

The first three songs appear on the 1983 Riot City EP 'Crime For Revenge'.
Even on a label renowned for its fast and furious roster, it remains one of the best EP's to be released by Riot City Records, a true powerhouse of a single.

S Duffy (Duff) is now releasing music as 'Lost Nobility', Jazz went on to drum for 'Mad Carson' and Adie to sing with 'The English Dogs'.
