Artist Detailed Info: Troilo

Troilo, Anibal, 1914-1975. Loved in Buenos aires this musician led a big band during the 1940s, and then when the big bands became uneconomic played in a quartet with guitarist roberto Grela, this was a classic period. His signature piece is considered to be "Quejas de bandoneon", he started playing the bandeneon in a quintet at fourteen. During the forties his orchestra was experiemental, it included Piazolla. It was known for acoustic richness.

His later time with the quartet gave rise to classics such as "la trampera" and an arrangement of "mi noche triste" in 1962. all the instruments could change roles, from harmonics to rythm to soloing.
