
Sugarfee from Västerås, Sweden including the members Olof Jonsson (drums), Jonas Apelfjord (bass, programming), Rasmus Ingermarsson (guitars) and Emely Ekblom Carlsson (vocals) see themselves as the future generation typically swedish music. They have found an interesting sound combining the elements of rockmusic with electronic soundscapes and effects. Nintendo meets rockband.
This band started at 2007 and have been going trough some major changes since then.
About the name:
Sugarfee is often faced with people misspelling their name or pronouncal errors and are then called Sugarfree, with an extra R. This is something they knew could happen when they choosed the name, and has later on been used as an PR-trick. The claim that people remember their name better if someone correct them when saying it wrong.
The name was made up by Olof Jonsson. Since he got diabetes and based the band on money from the insurancecompany he got when he got his diagnosis, he randomly thought about the word "sugarfree" and discovered the meaning of the word if you just loose one letter. The Fee in this particular case, is the price he payed for the drumset and amplifiers.
