Sultry melodies move like a freight train, raw basslines shake the ground beneath you, an eerie music box chimes far away. Stroamata evokes curiosity. Often compared to Paramore and Florence and the Machine, Stroamata also has been called “Muse with female vocals.” Dara Eagle’s powerful voice floats over the sophisticated soundscape created by the remainder of the quintet. Stroamata's style can only be described as a mellow groove which evolves into overdriven emotive rock. But the crowd drawn to them has said that what they like most about Stroamata is that you can't put your finger on them. Winners of Harpoon's "Boston's Best Unfiltered Band" Contest in 2009, Stroamata has also been featured on the Nottywood radio show and mentioned in the Boston Globe, Weekly Dig and various other websites.
