Soviet Filter

-----------Soviet Filter are an unsigned band based in Dublin Ireland, with a taste for the weird and wonderful. They have released two 'Guerrilla' eps, which were widely acclaimed by the irish underground especially on bands website www.cpu.ie . Both these eps were completely made from start to finish (including the cd covers) by the band themselves. The band played this years prestigous IMRO showcase tour finale and are currently in the process of recording a 2fm session, and a new set of songs which are set to be released on the unsuspecting public next February/March. ----------------The first ep 'Naylor shouts at the machines' was released in a cardboard cover made in eoinfilters dads shed, and the title was inspired by one of his frequent tantrums at technology. This ep contains the track 'My Polish Cleft' which with its arresting opening line "hazel seems to think we're all on heroin" is a firm favourite among the fans of the 'filter, as is shown by its huge success on Irish bands website www.cpu.ie (soviet filter have a page with many of their songs at http://artists.cpu.ie/bands/31/ ). --------------------The title for second ep 'unproffessional/uncoordinated' was taken as a direct quote from a review of 'naylor....' which was written by some crap student journalist, never ones to take themselves too seriously soviet filter thought that it was an apt enough summing up of the sound they were looking for and named the ep after it..... SADLY WE PLAYED OUR LAST GIG ON TUESDAY THE 17TH OF JANUARY, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN GOOD TO US OVER THE YEARS ESPECIALLY www.cpu.ie
