Slowtimer is the name under which Andy Reynard writes and record songs. Songs that are heavily influenced by the lowfi slowcore movement of the early 90s, a movement that is, thankfully, still going strong today. So we're talking Red House Pointers/Mark Kozelek, Smog, Idaho, Low, Hayden, Sparklehorse, Bright Eyes and Silver Jews. Listen at http://www.myspace.com/slowtimermusic.
Slowtimer are based in Wakefield, near Leeds in the north of England. Wakefield spawned not only Brotherhood of Man, but also Black Lace, so you can see that it has an illustrious musical history. Slowtimer, a lofi band that sings about teenage suicide, is obviously a natural progression. (Stop Press: we can now boast the Cribs, so maybe Wakefield will be the new Madchester.)
