Artist Detailed Info: Simple Duple

Simple Duple are an alternative pop band formed on the Sunshine Coast in early March 2009. The two peice act consists of talented pianist and member of hard rock band Adonis, Alys de Groot and singer Lizzie Irwin who is also a soloist and an acoustic guitarist.

The duo formed in an unexpected way, Alys played piano for an assignment, asked Lizzie to sing then the jamming and improvising began and things fell into place. Alys had a knack for creating emotional and fun progressions and Lizzie just wanted to sing and make up lyrics on the spot. The two of them kept creating song after song and something truly wonderful was beginning.

Their first song 'The Revenge Song' proved they could write a snappy pop song so they kept creating - next came 'My Prize' followed by songs such as 'Said Before', 'Holding On', 'Back of my Mind'.

Simple Duple comes from their philosophy of creating an emotive and simple song and their nature as a duo.

They are currently wanting to record and finding gigs regionally.
