HISTORY
The sisters Skye and Burn, alias Ingrid and Astrid Lang, have quite a long musical past in common – they have both been making music from childhood.
At some point their roads parted. Skye studied Popular Music (piano and vocals) at the Music University of Hamburg, while Burn shouldered her guitar and went to Great Britain for a couple of years and later to Ireland, where she performed in a number of folk formations.
Then, in 2001 Skye and Burn founded their band SHOCKWAVE RIDERS.
Keyboards, guitar and the two immensely expressive voices create deeply emotional music, that spirits the listener away into shimmering parallel worlds between noisy walls of sound and folky elegance.
The SHOCKWAVE RIDERS sing of love and betrayal, of hope and desparation, of the greed for money and fame, and of great deeds done silently, where noone applauds.
And they sing of the yearning for a world afar, where all humans are one.
Because songs are legends and we need them, so that the soul can live on.
