A one man band from Antrim, Northern Ireland. All instrumentation and production is done by Shadow Era. Formed in 2008, as an escape from normal way of band life, Shadow Era began producing music since it's birth, however, most of these demos would not be featured on the first full length album, "Topple The Spire", an album name provided by friend and fellow musician, Matthew Stephen of Dysnomia.
Recently, after composing a full twelve track album of instrumental groove space metal, a genre coined by Shadow Era himself, the decision to bring vocals of different metal genres was induced. Vocals like the death growls of Whitechapel and Suicide Silence, the harsh singing reminiscent of The Haunted and Machine Head, amongst the hardcore style vocals a la Death Before Dishonor and Throwdown, but among all of these metal genres would be the clean, catchy pop-like singing such as A Day To Remember, Attack Attack! and Killswitch Engage.
Whilst the first album, "Topple The Spire" is groove metalcore with progressive and death elements, Shadow Era looks to be adventuring into the wider world of musical genres. Its second album, Balete Drive ventures into the realms of funk, post-rock, and classical influences and ideas. Shadow Era has announced an industrial techno metal album with the working title of "Endeavor", with much inspiration coming from Celldweller.
A new frontier that Shadow Era has recently undertook is that of music production, with Shadow Era set to produce other local Northern Irish bands such as Below The Satellites and Dysnomia.
