Setmaker have been making music together since September '04 when the band formed, one fine afternoon after school, in Room 25 of Clonakilty Community College. Ciarán who had been drumming with the band Karnage and Patrick who had also been drumming with a band name Feud, were the two brainstormers behind the project. They invited Declan from the band Karizma to join them as the bassist
and Aidan from feud as a Guitarist and singer. To give the band that extra edge, they invited Dolcie, a local Trad Violinist of whom they were friendly with to join them for the final line up.

After succesfully writing some songs, It was time for the band to take them to the stage, Playing two back to back Amnesty International Fundraiser Shows. There was a lot of expectations for the young pretenders to live up to, as they were sharing the stage with two Experienced and Popular acts, Alan Tobin and Mongoose.

Since Then they have played up and down the country and have been spotted doing shows in various venues around the country such as Dublins Vicar Street and The Savoy Theatre in Cork, but they are never shy about returning home to play a show in the intimate surroundings of, De Barras Folk Club.

With a constant stream of shows and support slots with bands such as Bell X1, Mundy, Berkeley, The Walls and Lord Bishop Rocks, the band has had a hard time returning to the studio, but are set to record in the near future.
