Scattergraff is Sam Horton (member of now-defunct Ultranol and still-going Myles Power). Occasionally he enjoys tweedling away on the bass guitar and fiddling with synths and things. He's been thinking about buying a cello for a little while, though how he would play it, he has no idea. After the split of Ultranol, and Myles Power's apparently-indefinate hiatus, Sam decided to be silly and make sub-par 'music', rather than doing important things like, y'know, studying and furthering his nonexistant career, and the like.
Scattergraff's first EP, entitled 'Lambda' (taken from the ancient Greek) is a short, three-track release which utilises synths, ambient sounds, and a distinct lack of drum-beats to create sweeping soundscapes which are no less super-awesome, despite their short length (the entire EP itself is less than seven minutes long).
The Scattergraff sound has been described as "Ambient, folky, droney rubbish", which sounds about right. The use of 'rubbish' is particularly correct. Comparisons have also been drawn to Matthew Foster of Myles Power and his side-project Tiny Blue Boxes, although Matthew has dismissed these comparisons as being 'unflattering' and 'arousing'.
