
Satu refers to three artists:
1. Satu (Pentikäinen) was born on 3.12.1962 in Viiala, Finland. Her career started in 1977 as a backing singer in Tapani Kansa show when she was only 14 years old. Her first record "Menolippu" (finnish cover of One-way-ticket) was released in 1978 it was instant hit. Beautiful Satu was also selected as Miss Farkku Suomi 1979 (Miss Jeans) by Finnish magazine Suosikki. Satu's first self-titled album was released in 1980. Same year she took part in Finnish national final of Eurovision Song Contest. The song "Hyvä on" was a duet with Tapani Kansa. By the year 1986 Satu released five disco/pop-albums and took part Finnish song contests like Syksyn Sävel and Kevään Sävel. After that Satu quit her career and studied to be a teacher.
2. Satu is a musician and visual artist constructing maximalist, high-concept pop songs from his bedroom in South London. His practice is predominantly electronic and takes a genre-collage approach, with a current focus on de- and re-constructing emo conventions within a queer DIY music context.
3. satu (Satu Saira, born c. 1992, raised in Jokioinen, Finland) is a music producer and artist who is a member of the band BÄMÄ and works extensively in rap and pop, writing, composing and producing music. She has a music publishing contract with Elements Music, and she makes music for both her own artist project and other artists. Satu's latest single from her own artist project, Aivot sulaa (composed & written by Satu Saira), was released in November 2025.
