Artist Detailed Info: Sandy Courage

Alexander Courage (born 10 December 1919; age 87) is a Philadelphia-born composer, known and referred to as Sandy Courage, who wrote several scores for 'Star Trek: The Original Series', among them the main title theme. According to Jerry Goldsmith's commentary for the Star Trek: The Motion Picture DVD, he was the person who recommended Mr. Courage to Gene Roddenberry, as Mr. Goldsmith had been asked to score 'The Cage', but had to decline due to other committments. He has frequently works as orchestrator for scores composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
