Rob Roper

With the new revival of glitzy, delicate folk pop coming from all directions into today's music scene, Rob Roper's take on this genre is a refreshing insurgence of fragile melodies with intricate finger picked guitar lines to assemble modern Dylan-esque compositions; Stripped down, raw and honest.

Roper's recent recording ventures have created an album of melodic ditties under the title "It's Saturday Morning and I'm in Love". With influences from the likes of Bob Dylan, Damien Rice and The Beatles to name but a few, it's clear to see the unashamably upfront homage to classic song writing and British popular culture running through what Roper creates.

Starting out co fronting a young band some years back, Roper gained invaluable experience in all areas before eventually deciding to make it as a solo artist. Roper's ongoing interest in the writing and production side of music has also led him through experimenting with a wide spectrum of techniques and styles. This has slowly been refined over the years to produce a tight and distinctive sound.

After a brief 2 year hiatus from music, Rob Roper has begun to craft his sweet troubadour sounds again, ready to take this as seriously as possible to the masses. Continuing to get as many gigs under his belt as possible with his new material Rob adopts a number of different pseudonyms depending on his mood; 'Rob Roper and The Attention Seekers', 'Rob Roper and The Invisible Brass Band', 'Rob Roper and The Mysterious Petals' - the list goes on.

All of my songs are recorded and produced with Marc Joy at Ferndale studios
