Rene Karst was a Dutch artist, singing in Dutch. He died in his sleep on November 21st 2025, from cardiac arrest at the age of 59.

Rene Karst was born in the town of Hoogeveen in the Netherlands, on august 13th 1966. He is part of Duo Karst since 1979, singing with his mother in the local language of Drents (Hoogeveen lies in the province of Drenthe).

He decided to start a solo career in 2007, and released two singles and an album in the same year.
