Rapaces must be qualified as one the most hard-core rap ever seen in France.
Their instrus are pretty raw, not much of useless ‘decoration’ here.
Their lyrics are highly political, and what’s more rare, their attitude is absolutly up to their lyrics.
Texts are dealing with capitalism, wars, historical revolutions, globalisation, direct-action, class-war, political corruption, social slavery, state-control, multi-nationnals firms, power of money, anarchism, political prisonners, barbaric economic system, all religions, police control, dictatorships, relations between third-world misery and western politics etc etc. Highly subversive lyrics.
Their real revolutionnary attitude makes that they also have a high critic toward french hip-hop ‘stars’, analysing their behaviour toward money, celebrity, wealth, materialism etc, and their recuperation by the capitalist system, turning them into products only good to be controled. The french bands considered as ‘most hardcore’ stayed far behind Rapaces in terme of attitude, as even when they have good lyrics they anyway fall into the trap of money, celebrity, hip-hop clothes brand sponsoring, becomming just like those that they criticized few years earlier.
They apparently refuse to play live, their music is shared for free on internet, copyrightfree, avoiding to become a product.
