pleur was an indies visual kei band signed to the Kreis label. pleur formed in 1999. Most of Pleur's founding members originate from the cult theatrical visual group,
The band started when Da'vidノ使徒:aL disbands, vocalist Pietoro and bassist Eruze change their names to -F- (pronounced "Furan") and Noble respectively. Also, support Da'vid drummer Kyon joins in. The new members are Reeno (guitar) and Kuruto (bass). They released a maxi-single and a mini-album, both called "La premieré porte", produced by Yukiya.
In May of 1999, Pleur released its first single, "La Premiere Porte", which was a tremendous hit in the indies scene for its dreamy and whimsical blend of indie pop, and for Pleur's colorful and highly theatrical costumes. That August, the group released its first mini-album, which was also called "La Premiere Porte", which was also a smash for the young group. In December of 1999, Pleur appeared on the "Kreis 1999" omnibus, but in early 2000, original bassist Noble left the group. Nevertheless, Pleur continued onward, and, in October of 2000, Pleur released its second mini-album, "Pick Up -F-". The album ended up selling ridiculously well among the visual underground. However, despite the critical and commercial acclaim, Pleur ended up splitting by early 2001. -F- went on to start his own solo project, Kuro Pie (黒ピエ), under his character of Pietoro (ピエトロ). Under the Pietoro character, he also ended up appearing on a few releases of the Yukiya solo project. By early 2002, the Pietoro character ended up disappearing from the visual underground completely.
They had a concept going on, for example Noble was Kyon's pet and only she would understand what he says, even on magazines interviews his words would only be weird symbols and Kyon would translate. Most songs in pleur were composed by -F- and they feature the twin bass sound Da'vidノ使徒:aL is known for, although not exactly the same since -F- wasn't the songwriter in Da'vid.
Later on Noble quit the band to join JILS (changing his name once again, REN) and a new member called Lupee joins, in the position of "performance".
pleur released their last CD "PLEUR" on 2000.11.29, under the label R.S.C, on this CD the band's sound changed a lot since Noble wasn't playing anymore and Yukiya wasn't producing them.
The guitarist of Pleur, Reeno, ended up joining numerous bands after Pleur's split, with his latest act being the support guitarist for well known visual artist Satsuki (砂月). The bassist of Pleur, Kuruto, also went on to have quite a prolific career after Pleur's split, with his latest group being Number Mouse, which he is still a member of today.
