Southampton Based Openroom are an Alt/Electronica Indie band from Southampton.

Rob Mcgimpsey: Guitar, Synths, Vocals
Gaz Evans: Guitar, Vocals
Liam Bracher: Bass
Sean Mcgimpsey: Drums

The band formed in late 2006, at Southampton practice rooms. Recording their first track at The Studio, Isle of wight. The track, entitled 'Fire Drills' became the closer of their set for 6months. Amongst some high profile support slots including Boy Kill Boy, The Metros, Amy Mcdonald, Noisettes, Lightspeed Champion and the Holloways they played support to the Delays at sold out Southampton guildhall. their biggest audience to date.

In December 2007 Openroom's track "Chances" was named as Demo of the week by Steve Lamacq on Radio 1's "In new music we trust".


The bands first release, the self-titled OPENROOM E.P was sold between June 2007 and Dec 2007 until all physical copies had sold out. It then sold a further 100 copies on I-tunes in 2008.
