One Step Shift was a 3 piece (bass, drums, and guitar) band based in Oakland, California, USA. During the 8 years that the band was together (from 1999 to 2007) it released 4 albums (on Brokeinoakland) and 1 seven inch (on Loderbrock), embarked on a US tour, several regional tours and a Pacific Northwest tour that included British Columbia. The band made several appearances on the radio program KALX Live and was known for their unique sound and energetic performances.
