Ole Paus (born Ole Christian Paus on 9 February 1947; died 12 December 2023) was a Norwegian singer, songwriter, poet and author who is remembered as perhaps the foremost troubadour of the contemporary Norwegian ballad tradition (Norwegian: visebølgen). Noted for his consistent use of Norwegian, he encouraged other Norwegian musicians to use Norwegian rather than English.
Through his music, books, revues and TV-appearances, he held a unique position in Norwegian culture and was described as the Norwegian "national troubadour". With over 20 albums since the early 70s, Paus also appeared on many TV-shows. He joined Harald Eia and Bård Tufte Johansen in the show "Åpen post", a Norwegian humour-show.
