Formed in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in 2012, Moral Void is a relentless blackened crust and black metal/hardcore outfit known for delivering an abrasive, noise-drenched sonic assault.
Fusing the raw, tremolo-picked nihilism of black metal with the explosive velocity of d-beat crust punk and sludge-laden feedback, the trio first made waves in the extreme music underground with early releases like their Vol. I EP (2013), Vol. II EP (2014), and a split release with Young and in the Way.
The band solidified their sinister footprint with their critically acclaimed debut full-length album, Deprive (2017), released via Translation Loss Records. Driven by searing guitar tones, a crushing low-end, and a biting dual-vocal attack from guitarist Matt Russell and bassist Rus Holler, Moral Void strips away atmospheric fluff in favor of lean, targeted violence. Lyrically centered on psychological decay, human malice, and societal collapse, Moral Void stands as a premier force within the American blackened hardcore and crust underground.
