Michael Sievert

Michael Sievert (born 1953, Chemnitz, GDR) is a saxophonist and composer.
Since 1987 he works throughout Europe, in Africa and in the U.S.
In 1983 he completed his studies on ethnic- and contemporary music and composition at the Creative Music Foundation, Woodstock N.Y.
He is co-founder of the international "Woodstock World Music Ensemble" and the Bremen new-jazz trio "Freeport".
Besides numerous crossover productions with classical musicians for Radio Bremen, in the nineties he dedicated his compositional work mainly to a light-and sound environment named "théâtre imaginaire", which was developed by Gustav Gisiger ✝. During that period of time he got more and more interested in the techniques of sound design, which lead to the foundation of his company named Corporate Arts in the year 1999.
