Artist Detailed Info: Mango Molas

Slovak band Mango Molas was established in 1998 as a formation of 4 percussionists looking for inspiration mainly in rhythms of South Africa. New members were coming and the sound of Mango Molas has been changing. At present, we may define their production as music coming out of afro-cuban tradition influenced by sounds of West Africa, Arabia or slovak folk music.
During 6 years of their existence, Mango Molas became a mature and respected formation. They presented their music at major slovak cultural events (festivals Pohoda, Nocne vlny, Hodokvas etc.), in neighbouring Czech republic (club Roxy, festivals Trutnov Open Air, Beseds Tasov etc.)and also abroad (Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary - festival Mediawave).
In 2004 they presented their debute album Pena. The single Plavaren achieved great success. The same year, the band met their huge inspirer Ibrahim Ferrero and Buena Vista Social Club at one of the stages.
