Lineae is an experimental ambient solo project of Ion Ureche, based in Bucharest, Romania.
It started as an attempt to go beyond usual sounds and patterns found in most of the western music, and delve into the otherworldly soundscapes of the electronic ambient music. It is and will always be ‘in perpetual search for the sound’ type of music project.
The debut album, entitled ‘Where the spheres sing and dance’, tells the tale of a space probe sent on an exploration quest to the alien world of Jupiter and its Galilean moons: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. The last two songs portray the resolution of this space expedition: a final message sent back ‘home’, followed by the self-destruction of the probe by burning in Jupiter’s atmosphere.
All of this is a metaphor for the complex process of introspection and getting to ‘know thyself’ - inevitably blending between opposite moods while exploring the ‘moons’ of the self and creating a new you from the ashes of the old one.
