Jupiter Sunset

Jupiter Sunset is a little-known French band singing in English, as well as in Russian ("Novgorod"). The founders of the group are François Auger and José Bartel. They released only one album Jupiter Sunset (also called "Back In The Sun") in 1970.
The plot of the album consists of intertwining novellas about Sadko, the character of the Novgorod epic cycle, whose story begins with the fact that the hero leaves his hometown on a boat in search of a new life (Novgorod), similar to the character of a literary source. He has to go a long way first by sea, after a long storm to go ashore, then visit the velvet-psychedelic Monte Carlo..
It is worth noting that in French literature there is also almost an eponymous character - a Cage from the work "Tristan le Leonois", which remotely resembles Novgorod epics. It is possible that the musicians were inspired by both sources at once.
Perhaps the story is much sadder, because throughout the album, the performance of songs is melancholic, minor and, probably, the lyrical hero dies during a shipwreck and ends up with the Sea King, forever remaining in his captivity to perform songs, because Sadko was a famous guslar before his career as a rich merchant that "bought up the whole Novo-Grad".
On the cover is presumably the Novgorod St. Sophia Cathedral, or an unnamed one. Vocal harmonies and abundant use of the mellotron are reminiscent of bands such as The Moody Blues and Aphrodite's Child.
