Jasperwal

In the early part of 2001, the South Florida band, Jasperwal, was formed. The band would be part of the rising South Florida movement of Indie/Emo Rock in the early 00's. Ricky Kendall (Vocals), John Robinson (Guitar), Matt Short (Bass), Josh Santmier (Guitar), and James Dickens (Drums) were the members of the Port St. Lucie, Florida based band. Jasperwal recorded their Self-Titled E.P. at Backstage Recording Studios later that year and went on to spearhead the South Florida music scene while playing with groups such as Copeland, My Hotel Year, Never The Less, Embraced, Showoff, and The Operation. With a good number of shows under their belt, the band went on to take it's original style of rock to new heights.

Unfortunately, Summer of 2002 came and the band broke up due to members moving on to different cities, places in their lives, and pursue new music projects.
Ricky moved to Gainesville and went on to create his solo project Dayvis. Later, Ricky developed the Folk Rock group Jukebox Wagon, which slowly moved into his solo material under Ricky Kendall. He now plays in the Gainesville band Paxico via Mexico. Matt, James, and John started the Experimental Indie group "Winterhero" with John's wife, April, as lead vocalist. The band went on to play a number of shows around Florida, including one with the semi-national christian act Skillet. The project was brief, John graduated from UCF and both him and April married. They have a beautiful boy named Finn and the family moved to Southern California and are currently expecting another little one! James and Matt went on to attend Full Sail University for Recording, playing music with fellow classmates. After graduating James joined the Orlando based Alternative Rock band Plain Jane Automobile. Matt graduated, moved back to Port St. Lucie, and played in the brief Metalcore group Hearts Between War but later joined the Electronic Rock band D_composure, with ex-members of Mindlikewater and "Story of Midnight". Josh is now happily married and currently working on a number of experimental music projects under the title Lux Aeterna.
