Jake Tyrell was born on April 24th, 1984 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was raised in Liberty Mounds, a little community outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in the country and was raised by a hardworking ironworker father and an honest, spitfire mother.

While in middle school and high school, he joined the school band and found his musical talents were broad. He played the trumpet, tuba, bassoon, and percussion among others. He didn't pick up the guitar until he was in high school and fell in love instantly. He has been playing and singing ever since for whoever will listen.

He has country values that keep him earnest, hardworking, and fun loving. His style of music can be classified as Red Dirt or Oklahoma Country. He writes and records all his own music. His influences span across many genres and artists.
