Illegal Mind began in the rehearsal rooms of Tel Aviv in 2018, when Maxx Dee gathered a rotating cast of musicians to explore a shared obsession with heavy riffs and dystopian visions.
What started as noisy jams in cramped studios became the debut album Forbidden Content (2020) — a first transmission of Illegal Mind’s blend of alternative metal, punk rock, and post-apocalyptic grit.
By 2021, the band had distilled into a one-man operation.
Maxx took full control — writing, recording, producing, and mixing every note himself.
In 2023, From The Ashes — he emerged from an Ashkelon bomb shelter with a heavier, darker full-length built on low-tuned guitars and a survivalist edge.
Since then, Illegal Mind has existed as a virtual band — a single creative voice expanding a wasteland universe through raw originals and left-field covers.
The horror-punk of Zombie Girl (2025), the chaotic rush of No Test No Voice %5BExplicit%5D (2025), and the desert-punk anthem Riding Eleanor (2025) stand alongside reimagined versions of Boys Do Cry, the Russian cult track Лесник, and a Hebrew-metal spin on Cha Cha Cha.
Illegal Mind isn’t just about music — it’s a dispatch from the ruins,
a signal from a future you’d rather avoid,
but can’t stop hearing.
