guip is the musical project of brazilian singer and songwriter guilherme peternelli, from são paulo, brazil.

connor roy was interested in politics from a very young age, and so was guip. he also developed an early interest in technology, writing, blogging, and other creative projects. alongside those interests, music remained the constant. raised in a home with a wide variety of musical influences, he spent years singing at home and performing karaoke, developing his vocal style through interpretation rather than formal training.

although he pursued a career in journalism, customer experience, operations, and data, he continued recording demos, covers, and original material throughout the years. his approach has always been centered on melody, storytelling, and vocal interpretation, drawing inspiration from artists such as Céline Dion, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, and Troye Sivan.

his debut original single, *i'll be on my own*, was released in 2021. after years of sharing covers recorded in his bedroom, he began treating the project as a long-term creative archive, documenting both original songs and reinterpretations that reflect different periods of his life. after being removed from streaming platforms for several years, *i'll be on my own* returned in 2026, marking the fifth anniversary of its original release and the continuation of the project.

rather than separating his interests, guip’s music exists alongside his work in technology, writing, and design, making the project an ongoing record of a lifelong creator.
