Artist Detailed Info: Frogspawn

Frogspawn were a Thrash Punk Grindcore outfit formed in Tonbridge, Kent, UK in the summer of 1990 by Doctor Huge Trousers (bass) and Fanny Donor (drums). With the subsequent quick departure of Huge to be replaced by 2 guitarists:- Dr Crap Antelope (lead & vocals) and Bomjeezus (rhythm) the line-up was settled. Notable for their lack of a bassist and the sheer sonic wall of noise, listeners we're unsure of what bizarre turn the music would take next. Influences ranged from Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror, Creaming Jesus, Slayer, Metallica and Napalm Death to Gaye Bykers On Acid, The Cramps and Dayglo Abortions. The band soon developed a cult following around their local area due more to their outrageous humour and skilful propaganda than their actual musical abilty. They recorded several tapes of their work, the most well known of which became known as 'The Adventures Of Three Twats' but the planned debut album 'Hell Reigns On Your Hat' never materialised as the band split after Crap Antelope left for a career in film and the remaining members lost interest in the project around late 1991. The band did change their name briefly to Pondlife but no recordings ever bore the name and it has subsequently been used by another act.
