2. Fire Red is a Hard Rock / Alternative band formed in 2009. The band' sound is a unique twist of blues, 70's hard rock , and Heavy Metal influences with an emphasis on interesting melodies and rhythmic variations coupled with soaring female vocals. Fire Red began when founding member John Buondonno (Guitars) and then Drummer Mike Powlowski contacted Jerod Bias (Bassist) through an internet want add, the two met and after auditioning, Jerod decided to join the project. After a few rehearsals, the need for a vocalist to complete the lineup was realized. Initially a male vocalist was thought to be the best fit for the project, however after several recommendations, local female vocalist Michelle Jiminez was auditioned and selected to fill the position. The lineup now complete, the simple name Fire Red was chosen to represent the band's unique sound and intention to deliver a high intensity live performance. In late summer 2009, Fire Red recorded a four song demo under the guidance of Producer Brian Moore of Red Booth Recording Studios, who has worked with such bands as Sirens and Sailors (Merovingian Music / EMI), The Sunstreak, The Glorious Unseen (Tooth and Nail Records), and many others. The Fire Red original songs "Numb" , "The Beast" , "Blinded", and "Not Ready to Stop" were the songs chosen and recorded for the demo. The band began to play live shows with other local acts, honing their sound and performance along the way. Fire Red began to build a loyal local following, sharing the stage with premier local acts and also National Recording Artists Eve to Adam in April 2011. They have played in several popular venues in the Buffalo / Rochester NY area, including Waterstreet Music Hall, Montage Music Hall, Bugjar, Tralf Music Hall, just to name a few. The band also enjoys weekly radio play on Rochester, NY WBZA 98.9 The Buzz "Sunday Night Shakedown" radio show hosted by local legend Frank De Blase. "The band focuses its effort and might on its unique rhythmic twists full of dynamics that could easily draw blood. Vocalist Michelle Jiminez has an amazing voice with serious depth and range. It's as much a come-on as it is a threat."
