
Emad Ameri is an independent tenor soloist, acapella singer and beatboxer. He was born in 1984 in Tehran, Iran. He learned the fundamentals of music theory, singing, and playing the Piano during his childhood under the supervision of Mrs. Minoo Daneshbodi. Throughout these years, he held several performances at provincial and international levels.
Emad later majored in Music at Music University,and was taught by masters including Dr. Farid Omran, Shahram Tavakoli, Masoud Ebrahimi,pouyan azadeh and Hamidreza Dibazar.
While studying music at university he was invited to perform as the tenor soloist with Tehran Vocal Ensemble in 2006. He worked with TVE as the soloist and beatboxer for six years and achieved several international awards including:
- First rank for vocal ensemble/chorus competition section at the 24th Fajr International Music Festival Tehran-Iran, December 2008.
- Gold and silver medal in two categories at the second Asian Choir Games, Changwon, South Korea, July 2009.
-Gold medal in "Mixed Choir" category at the 11th International Folk Song Choir Festival Barcelona, Spain, September 2009.
-Gold medal in "Musica Traditionale" category in 8th Concorso Corale Internazionale in Riva Del Garda, Italy, October 2009.
- One silver and two bronze medals in 3 categories at the 6th World Choir Games Shaoxing, China, July 2010.
To improve his choral singing techniques, he participated in workshops conducted by Mr. Branko Stark and the Swingle Singers both of which were held in Iran and Europe. He later traveled to Armenia and took part in Mrs. Hasmik Hartsakoortsian's master classes. Emad also attended master classes of Mr. Vijay upadhiyaya, the conductor of ökf österreichisches Kulturforum (OKF) and performed with this group as the soloist for two years.
Throughout his music career he has also performed as guest artist in several other live concerts, recordings, and albums in Iran and other countries.
As a child, Emad loved making rhythms by his mouth and body, which later led to discovering Vocal Percussion (Beatboxing). He learned beatboxing by himself and was influenced by artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Rahzel, Roxorloops, Shlomo, MC Xander, Tobias Hug, Kevin Fox, and Jerome Colloud.For the first time in iran,and along with Tehran Vocal Ensemble,Emad performed beatboxing at a concert where he blew away the audience. He later participated in beatboxing and Scat Singing Master Classes in Vocal Jazz Summit in Mainz, Germany held by Masters Tobias Hug, Kevin Fox, and Jerome Colloud.
In 2011 he recorded the first Acapella album with Tehran Vocal Ensemble called “Vocapella”. A few months later, he decided to leave the group and started working as an independent artist. He then recorded a Persian Classic single called “Morgh-e-Sahar” in Acapella style. The video for this song was released in 2012 as the first persian Accapella video.
Emad is currently working on his first personal album which is due to be released in Fall 2012.
