EJAE, born Kim Eun-jae on December 6, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea, is a Korean-American singer, songwriter, and producer. She is mostly and best known for her role voicing Rumi in Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters and co-writing and performing the hit song “Golden" and most other songs in the film "Kpop Demon Hunters"

EJAE began training under SM Entertainment at around 11 years old and spent nearly a decade preparing to become a K-pop idol. However, she ultimately did not debut. She later attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she discovered songwriting and began working behind the scenes in K-pop and R&B.

She went on to write songs for artists including Red Velvet, TWICE, aespa, and LE SSERAFIM. Her major breakthrough came with KPop Demon Hunters in 2025, where she became the singing voice of Rumi and helped create several songs for the film.

“Golden” became a massive worldwide hit, turning EJAE into an internationally recognized artist. She has since performed at major events and award shows and has begun working toward releasing more solo music.

EJAE is also the granddaughter of legendary Korean actor Shin Young-kyun, giving her a longstanding connection to the entertainment industry. Her journey from an unsuccessful idol trainee to a globally recognized singer and songwriter has become one of the most notable success stories in modern K-pop.
