DFEX is a faceless musician, composer, and audio engineer hailing from the sun-soaked shores of California. His works span a large array of genres including classical, rock, and EDM. Originally wanting to tell stories, he uses his compositions to tell narratives about fictional and non-fictional characters, often with grim outcomes.

He began writing music in 2009, but he officially released his first single Odyssey in August of 2023, after finding time to write music while working his full time job as a FOH engineer. Soon after, he released two new singles, Mother and Leviathan - both being narrative type songs, both telling haunting and grim tales. He describes his thought process as "a dark place" which was reflected in the single Leviathan and the Apocalypta Trilogy.
